As well as providing an opportunity to look round twelve gardens in the Oxton Conservation area one thing that was immediately apparent in each of the gardens was the surprises that they held. I made two trips around some of these gardens and was surprised that I has missed so many interesting features during my first look round...hidden away down small paths, tucked into the undergrowth and hanging from trees were a number of weird and wonderful ornaments and statues. In one of the gardens we were warned to be on the look out for monsters ...and in another I found an alligator. In one garden I found a teddy bear, and in another there was a statue of a naked lady crouching in the bushes !! Below are a collection of pictures from some of these gardens..did you spot them on your travels?
I think there were two of these Dr Who like sculptures
Hanging from the trees in the back on one garden
