Thursday 17th March The geography of women's suffrage in Birkenhead and Central Liverpool, 1900-1914 *
Tuesday 19th April Oxton Society Annual General Meeting, 7:30p.m. RAFA Club, Alton Road (Note this is a changed date from that in the January newsletter)
The announcement of the winner of the 2005 Oxton Society Plaque will be made at the AGM.
Thursday 21st April The Wirral Poor Law Union and Clatterbridge Workhouse *
Sunday 8th May The Secret Gardens of Oxton, 10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., the fifth annual event, at locations throughout the village.

Wednesday 15th June Oxton/Prenton Area Forum, Woodchurch Road Primary School Woodchurch Road Organised by Wirral Borough Council
Wednesday 22nd June (TBC) Wirral's Heritage, with Richard Lewis, Director of Planning Wirral MBC.
Tuesday 6th September: Oxton's going underground. You may have heard the strange story of Joseph Williamson, the so-called Mole of Edge Hill who financed the excavation of a labyrinth of tunnels under Liverpool.
The tunnels are now open to the public and the Society has arranged a special opportunity for you to explore this unique and thrilling aspect of local history on Tuesday 6 September.
Tickets (£10 per head) include a conducted tour of the tunnels, ample food, one free glass of wine (and a pay bar).
Five tours of up to 16 people each and lasting around 40 minutes will start at 18:30, 18:50. 19:10, 19:30 and 19:50. Visitors are asked to make their own way to the tunnel Visitor Centre (directions provided with the ticket).
Book early by sending your details, your preferred tour time, and a cheque for £10 per head (payable to the Oxton Society) to Eric James, 3 Victoria Mount, Oxton CH43 5TH (0151 513 1998).

September (Date TBC) Oxton Walks, a report on the programme of walks and progress to date.
Saturday 26th November Lighting up the village for Christmas, all the fun of the festive season.
Other events Installation of two new benches and a noticeboard in the village centre.
Hanging baskets in the summer, managed by our new volunteer sub-committee (more members welcome email oxtonsociety@oxtonvillage.com )
