December Thoughts
Looking Down Rose Mount in the Snow on 27th December 2000
December proved to be a pretty hectic month for me, and as a result I didn't manage to get much development done on the site. The restaurants and pubs in the village looked to be doing a roaring trade, and the Christmas Tree trade in Rose Mount appeared to be booming. The weather for December was, on the whole, not that bad, and at one stage we even looked like we might have a White Christmas. The snow missed by a couple of days though and finally arrived on the 27th December.
I did manage to add a new section to the site called Village Trips. This section is intended to bring together some pages that I have developed since starting the site that don't really fit under specific categories. At the start of the month it included pages showing a Bowls match at the Conservative club, a descriptive walk round the center of the village, and pictures from this years Thornton Hough scarecrow festival. During December I added two further pages showing images of Oxton on the 1st of December in the early morning as I walked back from dropping my car off for its M.O.T plus another page showing some pictures of the center of the village covered in snow under the heading of Snowfall in Oxton. I hope to be adding more pages and images to this section during January.
The other main development to the site was the addition of a search facility to the out and about section. I have indexed all the pages within the site and will be adding other local links as and when I come across them. This will probably be my major task during January, together with a general tidy up of the site, including a revamp of the Yoyo section for younger visitors. So anyone out there who knows of any interesting local sites please let me know about them so that I can add them to the index.
