August Thoughts - The Hidden Mysteries of Oxton ?
Another month on my travels means that I haven't dedicated as much time as I would have liked to the site. I have, however, started redeveloping the Churches section and there should be major changes to this part of the site during September. I am also thinking about trialing a Chat room on the site for a period of time. I have been testing a couple of possibilities during August and may go ahead with one of these over the coming months.
August saw the start of the football season with Tranmere getting of to a mixed start. If you are interested in details about Tranmeres progress this can be found in the Men In White section of the site. On the sporting front I also took in the excitement of a bowls match at the Conservative club at the start of August. I have put some pictures and a brief summary of affairs on the site, however I was unable to get details on the final result. All this got me thinking along the lines of what local sporting teams there could be in the area. Do you run a local team participating in any sport? and would you like to put information about the team on the site ? if so, get in touch and I'll set a section up. You may even be part of a school team, why not send us a report of your matches?
I have started a new section in the site this month called The Mysteries of Oxton, it's in its early stages but I'm hoping that I can document loads of local gossip and facts about the village. So far I have posed a few questions, and put a few 'snippets' that I have picked up, but I am looking for any suggestions for things that people would like to know about. So get in touch and lets see if we can get this part of the site kick started.
More details of events relating to the Oxton Society have been added to the site and I am hoping to get some useful information from some of their meetings for the Mysteries section.
