Snowfall in Oxton - December 2000

The images of Oxton on this page were taken on Wednesday December 27th 2000

looking towards the Shrewsbury Arms and up Victoria Mount

In the early hours of that December morning  I put on my thick wooly scarf and coat and set off around the centre of the village with my camcorder in hand. Some of the pictures are a bit dark but I was basically trying to get some images before the village awoke and the snow was disturbed on the roads too much.

The picture to the left shows the view looking down Bennetts hill whilst standing in Victoria Mount next to the Shrew. The lights of Tranmere can be seen in the background

The picture above show views looking up and down Rose Mount.
On the image to the right can be seen the lights of Cottams newsagents at the foot of the hill.
